Great news for Cavitenos! S&R Membership Shopping has opened another warehouse in the Imus area, along Aguinaldo Highway Anabu 1-B. My dear readers from this area no longer need to travel all the way to Manila just to shop at S&R!
The inside in your typically structured S&R branch: spacious with high shelves to contain all the treasures from all over the world. It’s gray and very minimalist, making it easier for people to look around and approach the section they wish to go to. Oh, and yes, the Food Service counter is there too, where you can enjoy some awesome pizza, calzones, and my favourite– Bavarian-filled churros!
For the grand opening of the S&R Imus warehouse, Mayor Manny Maliksi himself of Imus City was present for an inspirational speech and the ribbon cutting. The Grand Opening began with a mass, then opening remarks from Mr. Anthony See, President of S&R. The Vice Chairperson of Puregold, Ms. Susan Co, was also present for the Closing remarks. The ceremony ended with a feisty dragon dance.
I think it’s great that S&R is reaching out to people in areas other than Manila because I think it would benefit many others to get to shop at S&R. I find it thrilling whenever a member of my family comes home with a food item I have never seen before; or when they bring home something I’ve always wanted to try but had not known where to buy locally. That’s the kind of thing S&R does for me– surprise me with something new and interesting each time!
For the Cavitenos who have never been to S&R because it’s too far, to give you a good picture of the things you can find in S&R you can check out my holiday shopping post. Now you can get all the yummy things in there for yourself! I personally like buying hard-to-find baking ingredients (like the phyllo I used in this baklava recipe) and many of the imported treats here. I suggest you head over to S&R Imus soon so you can sign up for membership immediately and maybe squeeze in some last-minute Christmas shopping?
I wonder where they’re going to open the next warehouse? 🙂
