Holiday reunions made more lovely by my favorite Macaroni Salad Recipe with Lady’s Choice

I share a bit about my family reunion over the holidays, along with this winner of a macaroni salad recipe that the family will surely love!

Since many of our extended family members go off on out-of-town vacations over Christmas, our typical family reunions happen during the New Year. You’ll often see the whole clan dressed in red on the 1st of January for a bit of luck, and then at the same time we’re also celebrating the birthday of my maternal grandmother. Without a doubt this annual New Year’s reunion is one of the things I look forward to, because there’s absolutely no better way to start a year than to spend time with the family.

I remember when I was younger, my cousins and I would sit at the “kid’s table” so that we could all have our own little world while the grown-ups go about their adult talk. But now my married cousins are bringing along my nieces and nephews, and needless to say pretty much all my attention goes to playing with the kids.

Sometimes I’m still surprised to realize that I’m an auntie now, but when you get to play with kids this adorable, it kind of softens the blow haha! This is my super cute 2-year old niece Euna with our go-to wacky poses.

In typical family reunion fashion, the room is always bursting with energy and excited chatter. Everyone’s catching up about what we all did over Christmas break, and all five or six round tables create this chorus of voices that kind of makes me realize that, indeed having a big family makes the heart feel so full.

Once the food is set out, the entertainment begins. One by one, those of my cousins who are actually still kids take the stage to sing songs for everyone.

Meanwhile, the older ate’s and kuya’s, uncles and aunties, also line up in front of the stage to take pictures and videos!

Yep, happens all the time, especially when the toddlers take the stage for a soulful rendition of Twinkle, Twinkle!

There’s never a shortage of laughter and fun whenever we have our family reunions, but you know something that makes it a whole lot better? Classic family reunion food, such as the Macaroni Salad. Of course, to make your macaroni salad more perfect, you have to enlist the help of Lady’s Choice Real Mayonnaise.

This version I’m sharing with you is well-loved in my family. It’s absolutely tasty and mouth-watering, sweet and salty and creamy all at the same time!

I know everyone probably has a version of their own they enjoy, but this one just happens to be ours. We like our macaroni salad with carrots, pineapple, shredded chicken, pickles, and onions. Adding a bit of condensed milk along with Lady’s Choice mayonnaise not only adds a touch of sweetness to the savoury salad, but it also makes it even creamier! Adding cubed cheese is also a must!

I love putting in a bit of paprika into my salad, but if you don’t have it at home then it’s fine to omit it. Just remember to properly season with salt and pepper, pop the salad in the fridge to help the flavours meld a little more, then serve. I promise, it will be gone in minutes! Here’s a little printable version of the recipe I prepared for you all. I really hope you enjoy this macaroni salad as much as my family and I do!

Full disclosure: This post is brought to you by Lady’s Choice.
