Romantic times with home-cooked meals and Jimm’s Cafe Clara

We’ve been having a spate of long weekends here in the Philippines lately. For those of you lucky enough to start yet another mini “vacation” tomorrow, it’s not too late to start planning for a great weekend ahead. (I’m so envious. I have to go to work!) I know that most of us think about exploring what’s out there at times like this, but it’s not a bad thing to spend time at home every once in a while. Your home can be the most romantic place if you’re with the right person, am I right? 😉 As for the food-related part of that romantic weekend, well, Jimm’s Cafe Clara and I are here to help!

Everybody likes home-cooked meals from the heart. Here I’ve got 12 tried and tested recipes for a whole day’s worth of meals that will surely help you convey your love. Let’s get to it!

Breakfast

My personal favorite meal of the day! I always really appreciate a special breakfast spread because it means someone actually made the effort to wake up earlier than me to prepare everything.

Super Coffee Muffins

Instead of being sweet muffins, these have a wonderfully deep flavor thanks to a mixture of coffee and semisweet chocolate. They go perfectly with Jimm’s Cafe Clara and will definitely wake up the spirit in the best way. Get the recipe.

Peanut Butter Banana Waffles

One of my favorite waffle recipes to date features the magic trio of bananas, peanut butter, and chocolate. You may need a waffle maker, but you won’t go wrong with this one. Get the recipe.

Nutella-Banana French Toast

This may be an old recipe but it’s still a winner to this day! French toast is a really great way to make breakfast more special, and this one is stuffed with Nutella and bananas, then coated with cinnamon batter. Get the recipe.

Lunch/Dinner

To make the preparation process easier for lunch and dinner, I’ve chosen some simple recipes that are all A+ in the flavor department. The fact that they look impressive is a bonus!

Spicy Honey Salmon with Sesame Soba

This one’s a great combo of punchy sesame noodles with spicy honey-glazed salmon. Both are quick to fix up but pack loads of flavor. Yum! Get the recipe.

Shrimp Arrabbiata

There’s nothing quite like a classic tomato-based pasta dish to hit the spot! This one has a little kick to it too. Get the recipe.

Lemongrass Pork Banh Mi

If noodles are not your thing, try out this Vietnamese-style sandwich. This is one of my favorite ways to eat a sandwich because it is so dang good, and you’ll be surprised by how easy it is to put together. Get the recipe.

Merienda

That little period between lunch and dinner don’t have to be boring at all with these yummy snacks.

Grilled Cheese Sandwiches

These sandwiches are always a welcome guilty pleasure! Seeing all that oozing cheese can really tickle the appetite, and I’m sure there will be smiles all around. Get the recipe.

Orange & Triple Chocolate Chunk Cookies

When I first made this recipe, I wasn’t expecting it to become one of my favorite chocolate chip/chunk cookie recipes of all time. (And I’ve made a lot!) These chewy cookies have three kinds of chocolate, the lovely scent of orange, plus a sprinkling of sea salt. Love in cookie form, basically. Get the recipe.

Chocolate-Chili Macarons

Ah macarons! Just the word is romantic already. They’re not as hard to make as you might think. (My post takes you on a detailed step-by-step on how to make these.) The combo of chili and chocolate is like love that is sweet and fiery at the same time! Get the recipe.

Dessert

Absolutely the best way to end any meal, alongside a cup of coffee. Here are some sweets for your sweetie!

Tiramisu For Two

For a really easy but impressive-looking dessert for two, look no further than this tiramisu! Easy to whip up and delish. Get the recipe.

Sweet Heart Cupcakes

Deliciously moist chocolate cupcakes with pink cherry frosting on top. That heart cut-out is a must if you want to up the romance factor! Get the recipe.

Chocolate Soufflé

I have never seen anyone say no to a soufflé before, especially when it’s chocolate! I even made a coffee-infused chocolate sauce to go with it for good measure. (You can use Jimm’s Cafe Clara granules for this.) The best part about this recipe is you can make it up to one day ahead. Get the recipe.

Whether you prepare a whole day’s worth of meals or just one of the recipes I’ve shared above, don’t forget to make Jimm’s Cafe Clara a companion to all of them. Coffee in the morning is a no-brainer, but I personally love having coffee after a good lunch, usually with my dessert.

I hope you enjoy these recipes! Maybe you can even try preparing these together as a couple for a really fun experience. Have a great weekend! ❤️
