Eat or Retreat: All-You-Can-Eat Dimsum Buffet at LiLi Restaurant New World Manila Bay [VIDEO]

There are people who are great at buffets, and then there are those like myself who are not. And because of this, I find myself a little more critical whenever I go to one. Most of the good buffets don’t come cheap, but expensive is okay as long as you get some satisfaction in return. Value for money, in short. So was this All-You-Can-Eat Dimsum Buffet at LiLi Restaurant worth it?

Tori Chizu in SM Megamall takes cheesy Japanese doria to a new level

As a foodie, one of the things I’ve always admired about the Japanese is their ability to seamlessly incorporate Western elements into their dishes. I am a lover of traditional Japanese food, but I can’t deny the creativity that a touch of Western influence can bring to a familiar Japanese dish. Many Japanese chefs have been doing this fusion for a long time, but I’m glad that the rest of the world is catching up.

10 Reasons why a staycation at Marco Polo Ortigas Manila will make you feel #blessed

This post is part of a series of features and reviews on Marco Polo Ortigas Manila. I was invited to a staycation in their hotel but all opinions stated are my own. My surprise staycation at Marco Polo Ortigas Manila couldn’t have come at a better time. See, it’s been a long while since I’ve stepped away from the world of work and taken a breather. In fact, it had started to become a bit stifling to be in the same environment everyday. What I needed was a change in scenery; a chance to reset and relax. So when the opportunity to do just that presented itself in this most…

    Spend a cook-it-yourself Valentine’s at Dohtonbori [VIDEO]

There are three things you need to know before deciding to eat at Dohtonbori: First is you have to be ready to fall in line. Secondly, it’s inevitable that you will exit the restaurant smelling heavily like food. Lastly, you’d better be prepared to get your okonomiyaki fix, because this place will give that to you in a multitude of ways. This is also a pretty unique place to take your dates out for Valentine’s, in my opinion. It could also be an awesome place for a barkada or girls’ night out. 😉 As one of the new kids on the block, it’s rather normal that a lot of people…

The Tous Les Jours Rose Inspiration Cream Cake Challenge

A resounding ‘안녕하세요!’ greets you the moment you enter the door. Despite the French name, Tous Les Jours makes sure to remind you that it has its roots in Asia– Korea no less, for ‘annyeonghaseyo’ is such a distinct greeting. Any Korean wave fans out there are probably familiar with this brand’s spokesperson: the one and only Kim Soo Hyun of ‘My Love From the Star‘ fame. Despite being a Kdrama fan I haven’t seen this super duper popular drama, but I’m not exempt from knowing who this guy is. 😉 Now as a fan of Asian cuisine and pastries however, Tous Les Jours isn’t such an unfamiliar brand to…

My first Teppanyaki-All-You-Can Experience at Yurakuen Diamond Hotel

As a general rule, I never go to any form of buffet or all-you-can eat affair unless it’s lunch time. I don’t have the appetite one might expect from someone with an athletic build standing 5 feet 9-1/2 inches, but when I’m sitting in a buffet I always tend to push myself to the limit. As we are all aware buffets typically charge a steep price tag, so I find it hard not to eat more than usual to justify what I just paid for. Sometimes you don’t tend to realize exactly how much you’ve devoured until you’re walking out of the restaurant– barely walking that is, because you’re too…
