{Taiwan Fall/Winter 2017} XinShe Castle and some bits of Taichung

Tucked away in a mountainous foresty area of Taichung is a European-themed manor called XinShe Castle. Stepping into its grounds almost feels like stepping into a completely different country. Much like Qingjing Farm, its picturesque expanse of land is PERFECT for appreciating the beautiful autumn colors in peace. As you can see, even though we came here during the Christmas holidays, the place isn’t crowded. You can take photos and stroll around to your heart’s content!

{Taiwan Fall/Winter 2017} Amazing autumn views at Qingjing Farm

I have never been to Switzerland, but it’s pretty clear that Qingjing Farm (清境農場) draws much inspiration from the Central European country. It is an incredibly beautiful place to appreciate the autumn colors, with trees in orange and red hues contrasting against the rolling green pastures. We didn’t even do anything when we got here; we neither watched the animal shows nor fed the sheep. And yet I left this place with a very satisfied feeling.

{Taiwan Fall/Winter 2017} Discovering the magic of Jiufen and Shifen

I’ve been sitting on these photo diaries for a while now but it finally feels like a good time to talk about fall/winter in Taiwan. (My last travel series felt a bit lost in time lol.) Since we’re approaching the holidays, there are probably quite a few people looking forward to traveling to Taiwan next month. I thought I’d up the excitement factor a little by sharing some bits and pieces of what you can expect, especially if you’re a first-timer there. Let’s start by talking about Jiufen (九份) and Shifen (十分) Old Streets.
